Exceptional Care for Exceptional People.
Upon arrival at Dr. Bannan's Office you can
expect a warm friendly greeting from our administrative staff and a
brief introductory tour of our facility. We want you to feel comfortable and welcome right away.
You will then be escorted to our private patient conference room and
offered a refreshment while you view short videos explaining our
infection control and examination procedures. A team member will review
your completed acquaintance/preference information or assist you in
completing it. Your concerns will be discussed professionally and
confidentially.
Dr. Mike Bannan will meet with you to get to know you before any clinical
evaluation is started. We appreciate the trust you have placed in us
and Dr. Michael Bannan believes it is important to know the "person" before getting to know your teeth. He will review your general health status as well as your dental health goals.
You will then be escorted into a treatment area where a high
resolution oral video camera will be used to capture images of your
mouth and teeth. This new technology allows 25x magnification to
dramatically improve your and our ability to see existing conditions in
your mouth. The images are displayed on a chairside TV monitor
so they can be discussed with you. Any pictures can easily be printed
for you to take home, or for us to keep safely in your permanent
record.
A diagnostic radiographic survey (X-rays) of your teeth and jaws
will be taken by a licensed clinical team member to aid in a complete
diagnosis. With the use of high speed films, precise developing
techniques and personal shielding equipment, we are able to minimize
your necessary energy exposure to safe levels, comparable to that of
the color TV in your home. We can then identify, or rule out, the
presence of any undetected pathology such as impacted teeth, retained
roots, cysts or tumors.
After reviewing your films with you, Dr. Bannan will complete a very
comprehensive examination inside and outside your mouth (a check-up
from the neck up!). The condition of your teeth will be assessed for
decay and any current restorations that have outlived their usefulness
will be noted.
Your gum tissues and supporting bone will be evaluated for
periodontal (gum) disease, the leading cause of adult tooth loss.
According to the Center for Disease Control, periodontal disease is
present to some degree in 80% of the US population, and is often
undetected because it doesn't hurt until it is too late.
The way your teeth fit together (occlusion) and function in relation
to your jaw joint (TMJ) will be assessed, along with any existing
dental appliances you may currently have. Signs of instability such as
looseness, drifting or excessive wear will be identified and discussed
with you.
A thorough head, neck and oral cancer screening will next be
conducted to rule out any pathology and identify any suspicious areas
to be monitored. You will then be given a mirror and a "magic wand" to
discuss any and all aspects of your smile that are not everything you
want them to be.
Dr. Bannan has extensive training and experience in providing
state-of-the-art cosmetic procedures and smile designs. Many people are
unaware of advances in modern cosmetic dentistry and how easy it can be
to have that awesome smile you have always dreamed about.
You will be provided a Report of Findings, and depending on your
goals and existing conditions, a Personalized Treatment Plan will be
developed for you. Written fee estimates and pertinent educational
materials will be prepared while payment options and appointment times
are arranged.
We hope that it will be immediately and overwhelmingly
obvious that you are in the right place to take care of your dental
health.
